Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, is often called the “City of Lakes” for its picturesque setting amidst natural and artificial lakes. It beautifully blends old-world charm with modern urban life. The city is divided into two distinct parts – the old Bhopal, with its narrow lanes, bustling bazaars, grand mosques, and heritage sites reflecting Mughal and Nawabi architecture, and new Bhopal, known for its wide roads, modern infrastructure, and institutions. Bhopal is home to landmarks like the Upper Lake and Lower Lake, the grand Taj-ul-Masajid, Bharat Bhavan, and Van Vihar National Park, making it a hub for history, culture, and nature. It also holds great significance for its proximity to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Sanchi Stupa and Bhimbetka Caves. With its rich cultural heritage, scenic beauty, and vibrant food culture, Bhopal stands as one of India’s most fascinating and welcoming cities.
