Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, is a hill town, situated in the northeastern part of India. Shillong in Meghalaya is situated at an altitude of 1496 m above sea level. Shillong remained the capital of Assam, before the formation of Meghalaya in the 1972. It has an average elevation of 1,430 metres (4,690 ft) and sits on a plateau in the southern part of the Khasi Hills, facing the plains of Bangladesh. The plateau rises 660 meters above the surrounding valleys. Soils on the plateau are poor owing to deforestation and washout caused by heavy rainfall.

Day 1 - (Wednesday 3rd December) : Leisure Day - Free for own

Day 2 - (Thursday 4th December) : Shillong - Sightseeing with Laitlum & Mawphlang
After breakfast, pick up from the Hotel and set out on a full-day excursion from Shillong to explore some of the most breath-taking natural and cultural attractions of Meghalaya. Begin with a visit to the enchanting Laitlum Canyon, literally meaning “End of the Hills,” where you will be greeted with spectacular views of rolling green hills blanketed in misty white clouds. Continue to the famous Shillong Peak (Direct Payment Basis), perched at an altitude of 6,449 feet above sea level, offering a panoramic bird’s-eye view of the entire Shillong city and its surroundings. Next, visit the picturesque Elephant Falls, a two-tier cascade where a mountain stream gracefully tumbles through fern-covered rocks into serene pools. Later, head to the mystical Mawphlang Sacred Forest, one of the largest sacred groves in Meghalaya, preserved for centuries by the local community under the belief that it is protected by deities. By evening, return to Shillong. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 3 - (Friday 5th December) : Shillong to Guwahati - Transfer and Sightseeing

Early morning check out from hotel and drive to Guwahati. On arrival check in at hotel. Later visit, Bhimasankar Dham, Saraighat Lake Park, Vashistha Ashram, Enjoy ride of Rope way (Direct Payment Basis), Umananda Temple at Peacock Island. Overnight stay at Guwahati.
Day 4 - (Saturday 6th December) : Guwahati - Local Sightseeing
After breakfast out to visit Kamakhya Temple (Timing: 08:00 A.M till 01:00 P.M &
3:00 P.M till its gets dark), Tirupati Balaji Temple, Nabagraha
Temple, Assam State Museum (Closed on Monday), State Zoo cum Botanical Garden
(Closed on Friday), Regional Science Centre and Sukreswar Temple (The 6th
Jyotirlinga of Shiva). Overnight stay at Guwahati.
Day 5 - (Sunday 7th December) : Excursion to Sualkutchi & Hajo
After breakfast out to visit Sualkutchi, this picturesque village is a
haven for silk fabrics ranging from the golden Muga to the ivory white ‘Pat’
and the light beige ‘Eri’ or ‘Endi’ silks. Also visit Hajo, which is one of the
important historical and archaeological sites in northeast India as it
preserves the history, inscriptions and architecture in a range of temples and
monuments over about 1200 years. Overnight stay at Guwahati.
Day 6 - (Monday 8th December) : Guwahati Hotel to Guwahati Airport / Rly Station - Transfer
After breakfast check-out from the Hotel and transfer to Guwahati Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.
