Day 1 – Delhi to Guwahati to Shillong
Begin your journey from Delhi with a morning flight to Guwahati. After arriving, hire a private cab and proceed directly to Shillong, which takes around 3 to 3.5 hours by road. On the way, stop at Umiam Lake for scenic views and refreshments. After checking into the hotel in Shillong, spend the evening exploring Police Bazaar and nearby cafés before resting for the night in Shillong.
Day 2 – Shillong Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, explore the major attractions of Shillong at a relaxed pace. Visit Shillong Peak for panoramic views of the city, followed by Elephant Falls and Ward's Lake. You may also visit Don Bosco Museum to experience the culture and traditions of Northeast India. Return to the hotel in the evening and stay overnight in Shillong.
Day 3 – Cherrapunji Day Trip
Start early for a full-day excursion to Cherrapunji, also known as Sohra. Visit famous attractions including Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls and Arwah Cave. Enjoy the scenic landscapes and pleasant weather before returning to Shillong by evening for an overnight stay.
Day 4 – Dawki and Mawlynnong Excursion
After breakfast, travel towards Dawki River, known for its crystal-clear waters. Enjoy a boating experience and then continue to Mawlynnong Village, often called one of Asia’s cleanest villages. You can also visit the nearby Living Root Bridge. Return comfortably to Shillong in the evening and stay overnight.
Day 5 – Shillong to Guwahati and Kamakhya Temple
Leave Shillong after breakfast and drive back to Guwahati. After checking into the hotel, visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in India. In the evening, relax near the Brahmaputra Riverfront or enjoy a sunset cruise if time permits. Stay overnight in Guwahati.
Day 6 – Guwahati to Delhi
After breakfast, proceed to the airport for your return flight from Guwahati to Delhi, concluding your comfortable and convenient Northeast trip.
