Day 1 : Jammu to Srinagar
Arrival at Jammu Railway Station. Meet your driver and begin the scenic drive towards Srinagar via NH44 highway. Route highlights include Udhampur hills, Chenani-Nashri Tunnel (one of India’s longest road tunnels), Patnitop views, and Ramban valley. You can stop for tea, snacks, and lunch at roadside restaurants along the highway. Reach Srinagar by evening. Check into your pre-booked hotel or houseboat at Dal Lake. , where the cool mountain air and views of the Himalayas immediately set the tone for your journey. After airport pickup, transfer to your hotel or traditional houseboat. After some rest, begin your introduction to Kashmir with a visit to the iconic Mughal Gardens. Walk through the terraced beauty of Shalimar Bagh, admire the symmetrical design and fountains at Nishat Bagh, and enjoy the serene spring waters at Chashme Shahi. As the day softens into evening, head to the magical Dal Lake. Glide across the calm waters on a traditional Shikara ride, passing floating gardens, wooden houseboats, and local vendors. Day 2 : Srinagar sightseeing
Start your morning with a drive up to the hilltop Shankaracharya Temple. From here, enjoy sweeping panoramic views of Srinagar city, Dal Lake, and the surrounding mountains. Later, visit the peaceful Hazratbal Shrine, located along the shores of Dal Lake. The white marble structure and its spiritual ambiance offer a calm and reflective experience. In the afternoon, explore the old markets of Srinagar. This is the perfect time to shop for authentic Kashmiri items such as Pashmina shawls, saffron, dry fruits, and handcrafted wooden souvenirs. Proceed to explore the famous Mughal Gardens, known for their Persian-style landscaping, terraces, and flowing water channels. Begin with Nishat Bagh, the “Garden of Joy,” which offers expansive lawns, cascading fountains, and one of the best views of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan hills behind. Next, visit Shalimar Bagh, built by Emperor Jahangir for his queen. This garden feels more royal and enclosed, with shaded walkways, ancient chinar trees, and elegant Mughal architecture. Continue to Chashme Shahi, the smallest but most charming garden, famous for its
natural spring water believed to have health benefits. The higher elevation here gives a lovely vantage point over the lake. If time permits, visit Pari Mahal, a historic terraced garden offering stunning sunset views over Dal Lake. Evening at leisure—relax by the lake or enjoy local Kashmiri cuisine. Day 3 : Srinagar to Gulmarg
After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg, a destination known for its rolling green meadows and snow-covered landscapes in winter. Gulmarg has attracted millions of tourists throughout its existence with the scenic beauty of the Himalayan Mountains in the back drop. One of the main attractions in Gulmarg is the Gulmarg Gondola, the Highest Cable Car in the world. The 1st phase of the Gondola takes tourists to the height of 8530 ft to Kongdori Station and the second stage of the Gondola goes up to the height of 12293 ft. Tourists can enjoy horse Riding and can go riding to the magnificent “Strawberry Valley” , Leopards Valley and ride up to “Kongdori” to see the frozen lake of “Al- Pathar”. Gulmarg in winter is a magnificent experience, fully covered in a white blanket of Snow which turns it into a skiers paradise. The natural slopes here are untouched and prove to be a challenge to ace skiers! Besides the scenic side to Gulmarg, winter time in Gulmarg is a season of festivities with celebrations of “White Christmas” and New Year parties.
Optional: Gulmarg Gondola: There are 2 Phases: Phase 1 : Gulmarg – Affarhwat (8,694 ft), Phase 2: Affarhwat- Kangdoro (13,058 ft) The two-stage gondola lift ferries about 600 people per hour to and from Kongdoori Mountain, a shoulder of nearby Apharwat Peak (4,260 m (13,976 ft)). The ropeway project is a joint venture of the Jammu and Kashmir government and French firm Pomagalski. The first stage transfers from the Gulmarg resort at 2,650 m (8,694 ft) to Kongdoori Station in the bowl-shaped Kongdori valley. The second stage of the ropeway, which has 36 cabins and 18 towers, takes skiers to a height of 3,980 m (13,058 ft) on Kongdoori Mountain, a shoulder of nearby Afarwat Peak (4,200 m (13,780 ft)). The second stage was completed in a record time of about two years at a cost of 180,000,000 Indian Rupees (i.e. some US$4.5 million) and opened on 28 May 2005. The French company had also built the first phase of the gondola project, connecting Gulmarg to Kongdoori, in 1998. The timing of the gondola is 10 AM (IST) to 5 PM (It's highly dependent upon the weather at both stages). A gondola can carry six people at a time. Also offered is Chair Cars for phase. It takes approximately 9 minutes to reach the first stage and 12 minutes for second stage.
Day 4 : Gulmarg to Pahalgam
After breakfast, check out and drive to Pahalgam. On the way, visit Pampore saffron fields and Awantipora ruins (ancient temple remains). Relax and Explore the Town. Bazaars of Pahalgam: Stroll around the Main Market (Lidder Bazaar) to buy handicrafts like Pashmina shawls, woolens, dry fruits, saffron, and local artefacts. Pahalgam is also known for its high-quality Kashmiri carpets.
Photography: The area is very picturesque with lush green landscapes, traditional wooden houses, and the river winding through the valley. It’s a great place to take some candid shots. Day 5 : Pahalgam Sightseeing
After breakfast, explore the famous valleys around Pahalgam (local union taxi required).

The highlight is exploring nearby valleys such as Aru Valley, known for its lush meadows and trekking routes, Betaab Valley, famous for its scenic beauty and Bollywood connections, and Chandanwari, which serves as the starting point of the Amarnath Yatra and offers views of snow-covered mountains. Visitors can also enjoy walks along the serene Lidder River, indulge in pony rides to Baisaran (often called Mini Switzerland), or simply relax amidst pine forests and fresh mountain air. With options like river rafting, photography, and local market visits, Pahalgam provides a refreshing escape into nature with both relaxation and light adventure. Day 6 : Pahalgam to Katra
After breakfast, check out and drive to Katra. On arrival, check into hotel and freshen up. Prepare for visit to Vaishno Devi Temple. You can start the trek (approximately 13 km one way) or choose options like pony, palki, or helicopter services. Overnight stay in Katra.
Day 7 :KATRA TO JAMMU DROP
After darshan (if done early morning or previous night), return to hotel. After breakfast, check out and drive back to Jammu Railway Station.
